Good & Green Star system

Awearness Fair Fashion helpt consumenten en ontwerpers graag om meer inzicht te krijgen in wat nou duurzaam is in de kledingindustrie. Een handige checklist is onderstaand Good & Green systeem, waarbij ontwerpers zelf kunnen aangeven hoe Good, Green of Great ze zijn.

Introduction The Good & Green Star System is based on three main aspects of Sustainability:

Good Help People and children to develop and/or to support with food, clean water and housing

Green Take care of our environment by respecting animals and plants, saving energy and using renewable energy (wind & sun)

Great Be transparent an show good and green (audited) actions and result on the website.

Criteria
The Good & Green Star System uses criteria like known and proven national and international standards, qualifications and certifications to measure the level of sustainability of an organization. An organization is rewarded with one or more stars when it complies to a standard or is certificated. Some specific milestones, like having a tangible plan to become CO2 neutral or a partnership with an aid organization, will also be rewarded with stars. Each organization van be rewarded with a maximum of ten starts:

***       3 good stars      (for taking care of the development of people)
***       3 green stars    (for taking care of the environment)
****     4 good stars      (for being transparent about good and green actions and results)
